Piercing FAQ
Can You Get Multiple Piercings in One Sitting?
I normally do up to 3 piercings in one sitting to ensure proper healing. Sometimes when we do too much at one time our body can have a reaction. I always say take your time with piercings. There is no rush!
How Do I Avoid an Irritation Bump?
To avoid an irritation bump you want to make sure you are doing the proper aftercare.
Clean twice a day with a sterile saline solution spray (do not use Q tips) & let warm water hit your piercing in the shower for 30-60 seconds.
Make sure to dry the piercing site with a blow dryer on the cool setting until completely dry.
DO NOT touch, twist or play with your jewelry.
DO NOT sleep on your piercing.
DO NOT cause trauma to your piercing and try to avoid getting it caught on clothing, hair etc.
When Should I Downsize my Piercing?
You want to make sure that you downsize your piercing around 4-6 weeks.
If you notice that you are still really swollen around 4-6 weeks please book in for a check up appointment.
A downsize appointment is when we take out the old bar and downsize it to a post that sits more flush during the healing so it doesn't get caught on things like your hair, shirts, etc.
How Soon Can I Change My Jewelry?
You are pierced with flatback jewelry for most piercings in my shop.
With this jewelry type, you can change the top at any time, but you do not want to switch to a different earring post for the full amount of healing.
You do not want to switch to a hoop until the piercing is FULLY healed which is around 6 months for most piercings.
Can I Bring My Own Jewelry to get Pierced With?
If the jewelry is from my studio we can sterilize it again and use it.
If it isn't from the shop I can't guarantee that I can use it to pierce you with.
If you bring in jewelry for healed piercings we can place them in as long as they are the proper length/diameter and gauge size.
What Should I Be Doing to Clean My Piercings?
My favorite cleaning solution is the Neilmed Saline Solution. This is a sterile saline spray.
I do not like to use Q tips during healing because it moves the piercing around causing trauma & the cotton fibers can get stuck in the piercing.
The spray is perfect because it keeps the piercing in place and also knocks off any debris with the light pressure from the can.
After spraying with Neilmed, wait a couple of minutes and then rinse with warm water.

Are You Appointment Only?
Yes I am appointment only.
You can call the shop to see if I have any time to add a walk in, but it is not guaranteed I can take you so it is best to make an appointment online.
