Do's and Don'ts

  • Do's

    • Do clean your piercing with Neilmed saline solution twice a day 
    • Do soak your piercing under warm water in the shower. This will allow any debris to fall off naturally 
    • Do make an appointment to downsize your piercing 4-6 weeks after the initial piercing date
    • Do make sure that you make a check-up appointment if you feel like your piercing is not healing correctly 
    • Do see a doctor if you are experiencing symptoms such as infection, excessive redness/swelling, green discharge, fever, rash, or swollen lymph nodes

  • Don'ts

    • DO NOT sleep on your piercing, period.
    • DO NOT use alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, or any other soap or solution on your piercing
    • DO NOT touch, twist, play with or remove your jewelry/piercing while it is healing
    • DO NOT use cotton swabs on your piercing
    • DO NOT go in chlorinated pools, hot tubs, lakes or rivers during the entire healing process. Oceans and salt water pools are fine, but make sure you rinse your piercing thoroughly after with the solution and warm water
